Can I send money from Serbia?
Yes. Money can be sent abroad only from the Post Office of Serbia.
What do I need to collect the money I was sent by Western Union?
To receive money, you need to present a valid identification document (national ID card or passport), and will have to provide the following: Money Transfer Control Number (MTCN), Sender's First and Last name, country where the money was sent from and the amount sent (+/- 10%).
How can I send money from Serbia?
To send money you need to present a valid identification document, tell the operator which country you want to send money to, the amount you would like to send and First and Last name of the person you are sending money to.
In which currency can money be sent from Serbia?
Money is sent in dinars (RSD) only, while the Receiver collects the money in currency available for payout at the destination country.*
What is the maximum amount which can be received or sent?
From Serbia one person can currently send the maximum of 200,000 RSD per day, and up to 900,000 RSD per month. There are no restrictions for the amounts received in Serbia. The determined limit for sending money applies only to Serbia and varies in different countries.
Who pays the fee for the money transfer?
Money transfer fee is paid solely by the sender.
Which information does the Receiver in Serbia need to provide in order to collect the money?
To receive money the Receiver needs to provide Money Transfer Control Number (MTCN), first and last name of the sender, the expected amount and the country of origin (the country where the money was sent from).
Who sends the Money Transfer Control Number - MTCN to the Receiver?
The Sender is given the Money Transfer Control Number when the money transfer is sent. The sender should inform the Receiver about the MTCN, since it is required to collect the money.
Can someone who is under age receive or send money by Western Union?
Receiver who is a minor (under the age of full legal responsibility) can receive money in Serbia if he or she is at least 16 years or older and presents a valid identification document (national ID card or passport). If they are younger than 16 years, when receiving money they have to be accompanied by a parent or guardian who presents their valid identification document, as well as the proof of child's age (such as birth certificate or guardian statement).
Minors are not allowed to send money.
Do you need an account opened at the Post Office or a bank to send or receive money?
Senders and Receivers do not need opened accounts in order to use Western Union services. Instead, every money transfer is recorded in the system through a unique Money Transfer Control Number (MTCN).
Is it possible to receive money as a home delivery?
Yes. If you want money you send to Serbia to be paid out at the receiver's home address - it is necessary to ask for home delivery service when sending money at your Western Union counter. You will need to provide the receiver's address and phone number so that the Post Office can contact the Receiver and arrange for the delivery of money.

Which identification document needs to be provided in order to collect the funds?
